About Programme
Fırat Üniversitesi Su Ürünleri Fakültesi alanında dünyanın seçkin akademik kurumlarından biridir. Seçkin bilim insanı kaynağına sahip olan Su Ürünleri Fakültesinde Su Bilimleri alanında etki değeri yüksek olan araştırmalar yürütülmektedir. Fakültemiz dört bölüm ve bu bölümlere bağlı sekiz ana bilim dalı mevcuttur. Fakültemiz Bölümlerinin Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü’nde yürüttüğü programlarda Yüksek Lisans ve Doktora yapmak suretiyle disiplinler arası çalışmalarda uzmanlaşmak mümkündür.

History
|
The studies regarding the establishment of our faculty date back to 1976. In accordance with a decision taken by our University Senate in 1976, it was decided to open a Fisheries Faculty affiliated to Fırat University. After this decision, our school started education and training in the 1982-1983 academic year with the decree law numbered 41 regarding the organization of Higher Education Institutions. Our faculty is one of the first Aquaculture High Schools in Turkey that opened in 1982 and started education and training in this field, and was converted into a faculty in 1992.

Admission Requirements
For admission to our faculty, FIRAT UNIVERSITY ASSOCIATE DEGREE AND UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE EDUCATION REGULATION published in the Official Gazette dated 3/7/2013 and numbered 28696.
ARTICLE 5 – (1) The following conditions are required for admission to the university:
a) To have a document showing that the student is entitled to receive a diploma from a high school in Türkiye or from a school in Turkey or abroad that is accepted as high school equivalent by the Ministry of National Education.
b) Central exams conducted by OSYM (YKS)
c) Not being enrolled in an equivalent diploma program in another higher education institution within the units of formal education, distance education and open education programs with quota limitations.

Higher Grade Transition
Our students who meet the requirements within the scope of the FIRAT UNIVERSITY GRADUATE EDUCATION-TEACHING REGULATION dated 20.02.2025 and numbered 2024-2025/4.20 prepared by our University Senate based on the articles 14/b and 44 of the Higher Education Law numbered 2547, the Postgraduate Education and Training Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 20.04.2016 and numbered 29690 by the Council of Higher Education, the letter numbered E.39746 of the Council of Higher Education and the decision of the Higher Education Executive Board dated 22.05.2019 can receive their postgraduate education (master's and doctorate).

Graduation Requirements
Candidates can graduate if they meet the requirements specified in Article 41 of the GRADUATION heading of the FIRAT UNIVERSITY ASSOCIATE DEGREE AND UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE EDUCATION REGULATION published in the Official Gazette dated 3/7/2013 and numbered 28696.
ARTICLE 41 – (1) In order for a student to graduate, he/she must have successfully completed all courses, practices, projects, laboratories, seminars, graduation projects and compulsory internships specified in the program he/she is following and must have a GPA of at least 2.00. Students with a GPA of 2.00 and above are also considered successful in courses in which they received DD and DC grades.
(2) Students with a GPA below 2.00 may retake any DD or DC graded courses they wish until their GPA reaches 2.00 or higher. In repeated courses, the student's last grade is valid.
